What is Seresto?

Seresto is an effective, reliable alternative to monthly flea and tick topicals that lasts for 8 months. Seresto is a flea and tick collar for dogs and cats that uses exciting, innovative technology to release the active ingredients in controlled doses over an extended period of time. This means effective long-term flea and tick control without the inconvenience of monthly applications. Seresto protects your pet from fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae and ticks for eight months. It is available in three formulation, small dogs, large dogs, and cats. It is non-greasy and odorless.

Not available in Puerto Rico or Canada.

For:

Dogs (7 weeks of age or older), Cats (10 weeks of age or older)

Benefits:
  • Begins working immediately after the collar is applied
  • Provides effective flea and tick control for eight months
  • Kills fleas before they can lay eggs
  • Prevents ticks infestations within 48 hours after application
  • Water-resistant and will continue to work even if wet or dirty
  • Odor-free compared to older-generation flea and tick collars
  • Safety release mechanism prevents strangulation if the collar becomes caught or tangled
  • Safe if chewed on by your dog or cat
How it Works:

The flea and tick collar releases the two active ingredients in low doses over an extended period of time. The ingredients are then absorbed through the fatty layer of your pet's skin and distributed throughout your pet's body to protect against fleas and ticks for eight months. Seresto can be worn alongside your pet's regular collar. No matter if you have a cat or a dog, the collars come with a ratchet release mechanism that releases when your pet is under pressure, which enables your pet to free himself or herself. It also has a pre-determined breaking point if your pet's head and neck get trapped, which allows your pet's strength to break the collar and get out of a sticky situation.

Cautions:

The collar should not be used on puppies younger than seven weeks old or on kittens younger than ten weeks old. If ticks are present on your pet when the collar is applied, they will not die within the first forty-eight hours and should be removed manually. If your dog or cat shows any sign of skin irritation or other reaction to the collar, remove immediately and consult your veterinarian.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Flea control We bought this item last year and it did the job, no fleas all season. So, when it came time for this season we did not hesitate to purchase Seresto again. The best flea control we have had for our pets. It is worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Product Have used this product for 3 years and love it. So easy, just put it on and forget it. I did use the liquid drops for about 4 years but my dogs skin was so irritated by it that she used to scratch herself bald where she could reach. It was torture to her and for us to try to keep her from scratching. By the time she did stop it was time to reapply it. So thrilled with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the BEST ever for cats. I have 5 cats in the house. Last year I tried this product because all my cats had fleas and I could not get rid of them. The drops did nothing, I tried the kind you mix in food, no go, they wouldn't eat it. In desperation I tried Seresto. I put them on and by morning there were NO fleas on them or in my house. This is by far the best product ever made. It also last at least 8 months if not longer. I have bought 2 rounds and will continue to use Seresto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second go around We tried this collar last year on all 3 of our dogs. We live in the country and the dogs are outside frequently, not one flea on any of them, it's spring time again so we're buying another round...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works wonders I am on my second collar and let me tell it its amazing. I never saw a flea or a tick for 8 months!! There is no odor or anything to the collar. It's well worth the price for as long as it lasts and you don't have to worry about aggravating drops each month. I would reccomemd them to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great on my itchy pet This product has worked wonders on my chow husky mix who suffers from dry itchy flaky skin and gnawing as a result. His fur has grown in thick and full in the places he used to chew and the only negative I have to say is that the loops that hold the collar on could be stronger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use! I received the collars on a Saturday, put them on my dogs and cat that evening and by the third day, my short haired dog had no fleas. It took a bit longer for the cat and long haired dog but by the next Saturday, they were also flea free! Love this product and will definitely purchase again!

Does this product replace front line does it repel the ticks and fleas from getting on them so they do not get bit

Asked by: Mary 98
The Seresto collar is not a replacement for frontline plus. However, it is a great alternative to topical flea and tick preventatives. If you are looking for something that repels and kills fleas and ticks, you may want to look into the K9 Advantix II. K9 Advantix II is a top veterinarian-recommended brand because it repels and kills all life stages of fleas (eggs, pupae, larvae, and adult fleas) and ticks (Deer ticks, American dog ticks, Brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks). K9 Advantix II kills 98-100 percent of fleas within 12 hours and continues working for one month to prevent infestations. You may click on the link below to view the K9 Advantix II. I take my dogs regular collar off at night and then I put it back on him in the morning. Can I do the same for this collar or would it decrease its effectiveness?

Asked by: blairre1793
Removing the collar should not cause the collar to lose it's effectiveness.

My 3 yr old Puggle is 21 lbs, but her neck is only 14". Which collar would be better for her to use?  The small collar says 15" but only up to 18 lbs, and the large says 27.5" and over 18lbs.

Asked by: crystalxlea
The large collar is recommended for a 21 lbs dog. Just simply snip off the excess collar.
