What is Frontline Tritak?

Keep your pet comfortable and pest-free by applying Frontline Tritak once each month. Frontline Tritak will quickly and easily get rid of any existing fleas and ticks on your pet while offering protection from any further infestations for a full 30 days. Its fast-acting triple-action formula will also wipe out any flea eggs and larvae to successfully break the flea life cycle. It also starts killing ticks in as little as 1 hour.

How it Works:

Frontline Tritak contains 3 ingredients to kill adult fleas, flea eggs and even flea larvae, which stops the flea life cycle and stops fleas from biting your pet.

Cautions:

Since they are different formulas, only use the Frontline Tritak For Dogs on your canine friends and Frontline Tritak For Cats on your feline housemates. Frontline Tritak For Dogs comes in four strengths based on the size of your dog. Use the right strength based on the size of your dog to ensure proper dosage. Do not apply Frontline Tritak more than once every thirty days.

What is this product used for:

Frontline Tritak kills fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks and chewing lice on dogs and cats. In dogs, it also controls mites that may cause sarcoptic mange.

Availability:

Frontline Tritak is a non-prescription product.

How this product should be used:

Use once a month on your cat or dog by emptying the entire contents of the Frontline Tritak tube between the shoulder blades. Avoid getting the product in your pet's eyes or mouth. Discard the empty applicator tube in the trash.

What are the side effects:

Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticides. Your pet may experience some temporary irritation at the site of the product application. If signs of sensitivity occur, please bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs persist, consult a veterinarian immediately. The most common signs of ingestion are foaming at the mouth and excessive salivation.

What special precautions are there:

For external use only. Do not use on puppies or kittens less than 12 weeks of age, or those under 4 lbs. As with any product, consult your veterinarian before using the product on debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals or animals known to be sensitive to pesticides.

If in Eyes:

Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes and then continue rinsing. Call a poison control center for further treatment advice.

If on Skin or Clothing:

Take off contaminated clothes. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center for further treatment advice.

If Swallowed:

Immediately call poison control. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so. Have the person sip water if he or she is able. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

How should I store this product:

Store in original package in a cool dry place.

Directions:

Hold your dog or cat firmly in place with one hand.
Invert the tube of Frontline Tritak over your pet between the shoulder blades and use the tube's tip to part his or her hair.
Squeeze the tube to apply all of the solution to your pet's skin.
Hold your pet for a few seconds or until all of the solution is absorbed into the skin.
Wrap the empty tube carefully and place it in the trash away from your pet.

Tip:

Remove your pet's collar before you apply Frontline Tritak, and wait until application site is fully dry (usually 24 hours) before bathing your pet or allowing your pet to swim.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TrayseeF from 15 days later and no improvment for my small dogs Actually bleached my yorki/chi mix hair a different color and didnt help with the fleas. Gave it to her on the first of Jan and by the 18 she had fleas again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible product from This product is a nightmare!! Save your money - awful for use on cats. While it's great for ticks, this stuff does NOTHING for fleas on cats. My three cats (WERE mainly inside but do go outside) are about to pull their hair out and it's going to be 10 more days before I can go back to Advantage II that does not protect against ticks but is wonderful for flea protection. I am treating my house at this moment as my cats no longer want to come inside, acting like some invisible monster is going to get them --- all because fleas are now in my house. I contacted a Merial rep this am who gave me some garbage about how the fleas inside would die within 48 hours as this is the way the product works, or something to that affect. This is my second month of using Tritak and she told me if I'd use it one more month they would honor some sort of guarantee. As if I'd put my cats through this one more month. They are going to be BALD before I can get the Advantage II back on them. And I don't know what's going to happen to me with these fleas biting my feet and legs. What a shame, Merial!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by 2cats2dogs from Never had a flea until I switched to Tritak Do NOT use this product. I used it two months and ended up with a house full of fleas. I had to bomb my house and buy flea collars for everyone (with paws) which cost around $95. Then I had to wash two 14-year old cats who had never had baths before. Five minutes for the shampoo soak is a long time when holding a squirming cat. When that didn't work I had to hire a pest control service for another $250. Plus two more rounds shampooing the cats and dogs. Then I had to vacuum the entire house daily to break up flea eggs so they would all die. I will never use this product again. Save yourself lots of trouble and buy something better.

My guys got ticks within 2 weeks. We returned to using tritek and the ticks disappeared. We like this product and are very pleased.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jess from 1st month great, having problems on the second. My dog was infested with fleas a few months ago. I immediately took him to our vet and I purchased Tritak. The problem was handled right away after applying, although i believe my house was infested as well. Bombed the house, bought multiple sprays, treated carpets, outdoors etc. I just bought my second dosage 10/14/14 and my dog has been fine up until the last few days.. I have been finding a few fleas on him, found one on myself and my bed. It hasn't been the full 30 days (14th) So i am not sure what to do? I am looking into switching but may try one more month to see what happens. my bites are terrible :(
