How it Works:
The Sentry Calming Collar is an innovative solution to help modify stress related behavior in cats using good behavior pheromone technology. This mimics the pheromone that the mother cat produces to calm and reassure her kittens and the lavender and chamomile provide a soothing fragrance. The collar works to mimic the natural way to help cats cope with fearful situations. When you first apply the collar to your cat's neck, a white powder will release. This powder activates the hormones.
Cautions:

Availability:
Sentry Calming Collar for cats and kittens is a lavender chamomile fragrance non-prescription (OTC) product.
How this product should be used:
Place the collar around your cat's neck, adjusting to fit the neck comfortably. The collar must be worn loosely to allow for growth of your cat and to permit the collar to move about the neck. Generally, a properly fitted collar is one that when fastened, will snugly slide over the pet's head. Leave 2 or 3 inches for extra adjustment. Cut off the excess portion of the collar. The effects of one collar last up to 30 days.

What special precautions are there:

The Sentry Calming Collar worked immediately. I thought I would have trouble sliding the collar over my cat's head, but she cooperated completely. I am thinking that's because she could smell the pheromones embedded in the collar. It is definitely making my two cat household happier!
I have already told my friends with pets about the collar.

Our 13 year old cat start marking after we returned from an extensive vacation (although she was house sat in our home), The pet store suggested we try this. It's been a miracle and she is so sweet and affectionate more than ever. The prices on this site are fantastic compared to the pet store, where the prices are double.

Strong smell, meh results
Our cat is afraid of everything and everyone. Our hope was that this collar might help him have less severe reactions to noises and other people, but we haven't noticed much difference. He has been wearing it for about 10 days.
The collar also has a very strong perfume fragrance that I find overwhelming. The first day was the worst- it gave me a huge headache. Now it is bearable, but only just. Some may find the fragrance pleasant, but to me it just smells like a synthetic chemical.

Sure, it calmed him down but at a cost
Initially, this calmed my cat down but he would lick constantly when he didn't before but I just wrote it off because I thought maybe he liked the scent. Fast forward 3 weeks to today and I noticed a HUGE raw spot on his neck that I assume is from incessant licking. Immediately removed and washed his neck to remove and lingering powder. Yes, it did what it was advertised but it caused another problem. If you get this I would advise that you monitor it quite a bit.

Worth it's weight in gold!!
My male cat, Neo, had a near death illness. After a long recuperation, he began to terrorize my 2 large dogs, the 2 other cats, my son and myself. Out of control for 6 months, I tried his product as a last resort and with little faith. It worked immediately. I've put a new one on every month for a year now and I have my sweet boy back and a happy family. First day he sleeps a lot and then he is perfect. Love the lavender smell. t's only strong the first day.

Awesome product!
I noticed within the hour the difference this collar made. Zara had licking issues due to her anxiety. Her demeanor has changed although she is not the friendliest cat to company and extended family; however she tolerates them so much better now. Definitely will reorder this product. Smell is good, too! Zara thanks you, and so do I!

misleading product
My cat spays in the house so i bought these collars thinking what better thing than the pheromone being with the cat all the time. All we could smell is the disgusting artificial perfume smell which made my cat act that I was abusing him and he hid and would not sleep with me. He was more stressed and afraid of me.

Will this calm my cats while traveling?
Hubby is in the military, and we are currently stationed 3 hours from our home town. Our cats are very wary when traveling, and we try to make the drive home at least a few times a year.

is it a manufactured/synthetic chemical or derived from an animal source?
Hi there, the collar is Pheromones 6%, Inert Ingredients 94%. Many companies have Proprietary inert ingredients. It is a way manufacturers do not reveal their ingredients so other companies do not copy there product. The FDA/EPA are aware of the ingredients but the company is not required to disclose it to the public. You may contact the company directly for questions about their Inert Ingredients.

how many collars in each package
when i bought the product at a retail pet supply store there were three collars in the package.
For the $15. to $19. range, I've only received 1 calming collar per box. But it does last a month.

Will the Cat collar work on my cats licking problem?
For the past four years my cat has been licking himself raw only during winter. We think hes nervous of the snow. Because of where he licks, hes been giving himself a sore spot and thus it becomes painful to urinate. He urinates wherever and whenever he feels comfortable to do so. Every winter we brought him to the (same) vet and every time got a different answer. I found this site and was wondering if this may help with his anxiety/depression/stress licking?
My 15 year old was over grooming and it helped almost instantly. We had to put her on a shot of antibiotics bc she broke the skin but she has stopped completely. Our 4 year old was inactive and hiding in closets...and having naughty pooping habits. Since we have had him on the collar he has not had any accidents and is much more affectionate after losing his brother several months ago.

Why do you say not to use on cats with open skin lesions?
My cat has chewed the insides of her back legs until they are raw.
A exam of the lesions by the vet would be helpful to rule out a skin infection related to the chewing.

Eating non-edibles
I have a 2 year old cat who is sweet and affectionate. She has no behavioral problems like marking or aggression, but recently she started to eat things that are non-edible. Not just chew, but swallow. I have found ribbon and rubber bands in her stool and places she has thrown up. She also has begun shewing on plastic. I work a lot, and I am back in school. She always seems so starved for my attention. I think it might be anxiety related. Any suggestions? Do you think this product might help?
Is it possible she is eating these things to assist her in bringing up a hairball? We have a cat that would chew on any ribbon she could find and a hairlball would follow soon thereafter. We began giving her dry hairball formula and dry hairball "treats" and they have decreased from frequent to occasional. IF you see the articles mixed into a hairball, I would try what we did as well as grooming her with a brush often. Our cat is a long hair and hates being brushed so the change in diet was critical and helped 90%. Beyond that, if she is "starved for affection" and seems very "needy" the collar and some lap/petting time should relieve a lot of that. Good luck!

Will this work?
I have a cat that like to urinates on things and starch every thing, the carpet mostly and LOVES to meow all night long to the point, you would think she is dieing. I am ready to give her way. We have children and she wakes them up most nights. Plz will this help or will my cat be gone soon? If any one knows what to do them I am all ears.
You have nothing to loose but a few bucks. Try it out. We were at the end of our ropes on our cat and this made the difference between our trying to place her as a "special needs" cat and keeping her. It is worth every cent!
