Stainless Steel The Best... Rubber - NOT
Hi,
Just wanted to give my experience having used stainless steel bowls for years. This is the most healthy option for your pet as the stainless steel is easy to wash and very hygienic. ****
But why I mark this with fewer stars ... I see RUBBER is used on the bottom. My experience with this material is: if you want this product to last as long as possible ... go for S I L I C O N E non-skid base or something. The rubber dries out after much use and ... WASHING and Air Drying ... makes the rubber non-flexible when it gets older ... THEN ... the DYE that was used to color the rubber WILL begin to stain your floors, your sink, and get all over your hands!!! - Avid Pet Lover

Our "magic" cat dish
Strangest thing, I found consistently when the cats are fed from this stainless steel dish they clean the bowl eat every last morsel, but with plastic dishes they always leave varying amounts of food in the dish to dry out and won't eat it. Even my little dog chihuahua mix likes this tiny bowl, a great size for cats and tiny dogs. I have read plastic bowls retain a scent after a while where stainless steel bowls or ceramic ones do not. We can not smell a lingering scent but our cats and especially dogs certainly can. This may be why they suddenly finish all the food when this bowl is used. I need to replace all my old plastic bowls with these kind.

Great Bowls
We love these bowls for our dogs. They are a good size, durable, easy to clean, and best of all, don't move all over the place due to the rubber on the bottom. We have quite a few sizes and they are good for food as well as water.

Very pleased
I bought 3 bowls for my dogs to use in our camper because until then their food and water would get spilled because of the small room we have to walk around in the kitchen area. The rubber bottom ring keeps it from spilling when they are accidentally kicked. They also are easily cleaned and are made with quality in mind. Very pleased!

Good cat bowls
I purchased these to replace the plastic bowls I had because I read that plastic bowls could iritate feline acne. One of my girls has an issue with that. I really like these, they are heavy duty and the rubber bottom keeps them in place. I was afraid they didn't hold enough food at first, but they work fine for my 3 little pigs (all cats of course).

Great pet dish
This is the best no-slip pet dish I have tried. The rubber on the bottom is very durable. I have four of these dishes; the oldest is probably 2 years old and the rubber bottom has not peeled, chipped, or gotten worn down in any way. It is dishwasher-safe, which is very convenient for me. One of my cats tends to push wet food around with his mouth when he eats. With regular plates, this results in a messy eating area, but this never happens with this dish!

It could be deeper for a water bowl. Good height for wet or dry foods, though.

I'm looking for a very shallow stainless steel bowl (with sloped sides?) for my elderly cat so he can eat without the last of the food getting pushed into the sides and then not eaten. They say cats don't like bowls that have sides touching their very sensitive whiskers - hence want to find a shallow one. thx

I would use an ELEVATED bowl riser for your house. The trick is .... you HAVE to keep the area clean of food particles. Also mop the area a lot!!!
My experience with ants and research =
The ants leave a chemical "trail/scent" behind for more ants to follow. Clean that off the floor and you helped out a lot!!

what size feeding bowl for lab ret?

I recommend, as a Dog Enthusiast, a Large Bowl. Stainless Steel, preferred Silicone base over RUBBER!
My dog is a Pug and I use a Medium size. Having shopped around, you have a larger sized dog. Not a Toy, Not a Bulldog, Retriever.
Good luck and p.s. check out special bowls if your dog is a gulper! They make bowls to slow them pups down. Better for their health too!!!

Are these bowls USA made?
I ordered 2 of these bowls thinking great, made in the USA. When I got them I saw the sticker on them said they are made in India. I kept the bowls, they are still decent bowls, but not made in the USA.

How big are these bowls? Dimensions?
I have the 2 quart and 1 quart size. 2 quart is about 9.5 inch in diameter and about 2.75 in depth. The bowls have a small lip.

Are the bowls tippable?
I have 3 cats that can't keep their paws outta the water bowl. They just turned 3 and have always used a bottle (like hamsters) to drink out of because they always spilled the water bowl over. I read the description and reviews about how these bowls don't slide around on the floor, and that's good. But i really wanted to know if they are weighted at all, because if not then my kitties will spill it over.
I say no, not tippable. My cats do the same thing with the water, they have one of my Pyrex bowls, otherwise I'm sure they would spill. These food bowls really do stay in place well, much heavier than other bowls and won't slide.
