How this product should be used:
Shake well before using. One 16-ounce canister contains enough powder to treat 1 to 2 rooms (200-400 square feet). When using this product at the lower rate, allow the powder to remain in place for 24 hours before vacuuming. Apply powder more heavily to areas of flooring on which pets spend most of their time. Apply to dry surfaces only. Do not wet powder. For carpets; shake the powder evenly across surface. Brush lightly with broom to force powder deep into carpet where fleas and their larvae exist. Wait at least 60 minutes before lightly vacuuming to remove visible surface powder.

This product can be hazardous to humans and domestic animals. Bio Spot Carpet Powder may cause moderate eye irritation.
What special precautions are there:
Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling powder and before eating or smoking. Do not contaminate feed, water or foodstuffs. Do not apply to food processing surfaces or use in food processing areas where food is exposed. Cover fish aquariums prior to use. Keep children and pets off treated carpet during treatment and while powder is still visible on its surface.

Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

product does not work
I tried bio spot carpet powder and did not get the desired results. Followed the directions closely to ensure full coverage. Treated my dog and cat with capstar caps and frontline prior to treating the carpet. The only result I got was what seemed to be a worse problem.

Does Not Work!
I have a very bad flea infestation in my house. I bought this flea powder and the Virbac flea foggers. Neither of them made any difference what-so-ever. In fact, it seems like it just made them worse, like it made them mad or something. I did buy a 40 pound bad of diatomaceous earth from the feed store for $20, and it actually seems to be helping. I definately would not recommend this product or the flea foggers. It is a waste of your money!

Very disappointed
I have my dog and cat on advantix 2 and advantage 2 and am very pleased with the results. Since applying them I have seen no fleas on my pets. At the same time I used the bio spot carpet powder to rid my carpet of the fleas as well. However, even after heavily saturating the carpet with the powder I can tell no difference. The fleas are still there. It has been four days since using the this product the first time and one day since giving the carpet a second dose. The fleas are still hatching and the powder is obviously not working as it claims to. I find it amazing how it claims to work for up to 12 months when it doesn't even seem to work one week. For what this product costs I certainly expected a lot better.

simple product
its easy to use. didnt have to take animals out of home like with other products. i let it sit an hr then vaccumed. i would recommend u wear a mask if u have one the smell can be bothersom, light headache. you have to treat carpet not just ur pet if u want to get rid of fleas. this product is quick and inexpensive.

DIDN'T WORK
I have all my dogs and cats on frontline plus, plus I used this carpet powder as instructed, there are still fleas even after I washed and vacuumed everything, and they are still on my pets!!! This is a very big issue as one of my cats and three of my dogs all have a MAJOR flea allergy. Worst $20 I ever spent.

carpet powder
My poor dag never had fleas before, but I added a cat to the mix and in came the fleas. I tried to do the baths which the cat hated. after three times of that and the fleas were multiplying, I got online to find something to help Raskal (my dog). I put the front line on both cat and dog. than I started in the bedroom I washed everything that could be washed vacuum and put the powder on the rug. I then boomed it in to the rug closed the door and went to the next room. Raskal has been flea free for two weeks now and I am loving it. I would try this product again. The only thing is yes you should wear a cover over month and nose.

High Hopes Shattered
I purchased this product and received it almost one week ago. Every month I treat my dog, my home and my yard in that order. Based on the great ratings I decided to try it in my own home with high expectations. The reviews were very accurate as far as the smell being strong and the powder is very overpowering when you begin to sweep it into the carpet. Pets and children should not be present while the powder is actually on the carpet, but that should be expected with any pesticide. Now, when it comes to how well it worked, I couldn't tell you because it hasn't started to yet.
It is now one week later, and I must admit that while I do not have a out of control flea infestation, I find that I am still sprinkling powder in my home. I actually just asked myself before I sat down and began to type this review "When is it supposed to start working? How long is it supposed to take?".
Sasha loves to be in my room, so a lot of her favorite indoor spots are located in there, and naturally, the fleas are too. (Sighs) I just want something that works...
This is not a product I would buy again. It did not work for me at all. If anyone has another product they would recommend, I'm willing to try it.

Thank you for your question. Wait at least 60 minutes before (lightly) vacuuming to remove visible surface powder. For maximum efficacy, delay vacuuming for up to 24 hours.

is it safe for pregnant women to be around
Thank you for your question Shanda and happy holidays to you and your furry buddy. I would check with your doctor to determine if this product can be used with your expecting status. According to the manufacturer, when the product is applied you want to avoid that area for 24 hours to allow the product to be fully effective, thoroughly vacuum the area and throw away or empty canister.

would this product be safe to use with a small indoor pet?
We have a little yorkie who is bad about fleas and we are about to try to get rid of all the fleas and we was just wondering if this would be safe to use with the dog being indoors
buy him a flea collar take him to stay with some one for a night and leave the powder on the floor while it is on there for at least 10 minutes take a broom wherever you sprinkled the product at and brush it all over the carpet. until you can hardly see it. the reason why is because you want to make sure the product is in the carpet not sitting on top of it. You want to make sure the dog is out of the house for 24 hours so he does not walk through it and then lick his paws since you brushed off the carpet the product will also be in the air YOUR DOG WILL GET SICK IF YOU LEAVE HIM IN A CAGE WHILE DOING THIS MAKE SURE THE WINDOWS ARE ALSO OPEN. leave the product in the carpet for 24 hours then vaccum. I did all these steps and worked out great!! and i am now protected for 1 year. and my shih tzu is doing great! make sure you get something for the backyard too.

Pyridine is an interesting ingredient, as are each of the ingredients listed.
I think if my baby was rolling around on the carpet, I would consider keeping baby off for at LEAST 24 hrs and after 2 or more complete vaccumings. (Actually, I think I would rather see my baby with flea bites, which is awful, but might be the lessor of the 2.)
