Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeanie from Good multi-vitamin to supplement home-cooked meals We needed a multivitamin to supplement our dog's meals when we give her a plain-cooked chicken and rice meal a few times a week. Our dog won't eat the tablet by itself, but will eat it if it is cut into smaller pieces and sprinkled over her dinner. A serrated bread knife gets the job done quickly. The tablet crumbles when I saw it into quarters, so it's just a matter of cutting it on a paper towel and sprinkling the vitamin into her bowl. Our dog loves chicken and rice days and I feel like she is getting the nutrition she needs when I add the vita chew. We got our order on the day estimated for the shipping and our dog loves the delicious dog biscuit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Olive from Great supplement Olive is an 8 year old terrier mix with supraventricular tachycardia. She's been taking beta blockers for about 6 months now, but I've noticed a dramatic improvement in her health since I've added these vitamins to her regimen. Fewer episodes of elevated heart rate, and she seems to have more energy. Although a lot of reviewers have had issues administering these to their pets, Olive has never turned one down. I absolutely recommend this product.

I initially got it because I noticed my 7yr old pit/boxer was showing signs of aging like not wanting to play as much and sleeping more than usual. I thought this would be a waste of money but I wanted to at least try it and see for peace of mind. It's been about 4 weeks and he has shown incredible signs of improvement. He wants to play with anything all the time and has that "light in his eyes" back. It's like having his puppy self back but without all the bad manners! I'm getting the best of both worlds! We add it to his food morning and night and he has no problems eating it. I also have noticed signs of improvement in my (almost) 9 yr old miniature Dachshund. I didn't think she needed any improvement but she is even more playful than before (idk how that's even possible!) and many of her bad behaviors have just stopped while her good behaviors are like on overdrive. I haven't noticed any differences in my younger dogs but they are probably too young to need "improvement" so these will be great preventative measures. The only negative things is that my Siberian Husky wont eat them unless they are cut in half and soaked in water for about 10mins but this isn't a problem since it takes me so long to get 4cats and 4 dogs food together and distributed that it has plenty of time to soften up. My home won't ever be without this product.

My Boston Terrier hates the taste but I cut them in 4 pieces & hide in lunch meat & he takes them fine that way. I have a fairly new German Shepard puppy & she LOVES them! So nice & easy to give one to her & she gobbles it right up, she is a bit picky too so I'm surprised! The only downfall to these is they use magnesium as oxide which is the WORST absorbing magnesium there is. I called to speak to a pharmacist to ask why that is & see if they could change to a good absorbing magnesium, as we all deplete on magnesium as we age & it's very important to supplement correctly. I was told I would receive a call back & never did. I surprised at that since normally 1800 pet meds are so helpful & caring. My Boston loves getting the treat in the order left at the door, he would never normally eat those kind of milk bones but I think he loves the whole idea of mom opening the package & a treat is in there! lol I have to order more vitamins today & this is my first time since having the new puppy, now I will have to try breaking the treat in half I guess.....

I have a sensitive stomach and so am on a special diet that includes lots of rice, chicken and a little food for sensitive stomachs. For this reason I have to take a multivitamin. I loved the vitamins that my people bought me from the vet - they thought they were fooling me when they gave them to me like treats. This time they bought vitamins from 1-800-Petmeds and they are awful. No way am I putting those in my mouth, chewing and swallowing. In order to be effective I have to eat them and I am not eating these and they are much too big for me to swallow. Sorry, but I'd look at another kind if you need vitamins.

It is not Chewable my 100 pound Labrador cannot even chew this,he actually gums the pill then spits it out. Even when I break it he refuses to take it. It is becoming a big chore for me to make him take it. I will be sending this product back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jazz from Dog Eating His Feces After VitaChews I have a 10 year old Brussels Griffon who is in good health but because he is aging, I decided to try Vitachews. Initially, I could tell a difference because he was a little more active than usual. Last night I noticed that he was smelling his feces a little too long and before I could get to him, he was eating it!! I was in total shocked and grossed out! He has never done that before. He actually walks around it if it's there. Today I took him out and as soon as he finished, he turned around and started eating it again! It's almost like it was a treat to him. I did notice that the smell of his feces is quite different than prior to the Vitachews. The only thing different is the supplements. I am forced to discontinue this product and hope that I can find something to deter this behavior.
