Studies have shown that silybin/silymarin protects against oxidative stress, provides a mechanism for liver cell regeneration, inhibits leukotrienes which are a component of the inflammatory response, stimulates biliary flow and production of hepatoprotective bile salts and increases levels of glutathione.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Give as a pill My cat didn't like the taste of this sprinkled on his food. My vet said to give it to him as a pill. I have been successfully giving this to him as a pill for several years and it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missy doesn't like this new Marin product When I tried this new product, Missy would not eat her food. Tried putting it on just one side of the canned food. She only ate the side without the Marin. If I mixed it in all her food she wouldn't eat it at all! Wish the tablets were back. She took those without any issues!

Q&A

Marin for cats 60ct sprinkle capsules

My cat would not eat the meal that has sprinkled marin for cats. Is the capsule edible? May I feed the marin for cats sprinkle capsule by mouth without sprinkling into cat's food?
Asked by: Jay-Z
Hi yes you can pill them ( Hold your pets mouth closed until she swallows. Stroke her head with your other hand and talk to her to calm her. If she refuses to swallow, blow gently at her nose, but not into her nose.)

I am using Marin for cats for my cat. I have noticed that similar products are available otc for humans. Can i use this instead?

I wonder how the dosage would compare...It would be much cheaper to buy the human form.
Asked by: marebaby
We would suggest for you to contact your vet to make sure it will be ok for your furry pal. And to get the right dosage amount as well.

How close is OTC Marin to Rx Denamarin?

Asked by: Sfkitty
Hi there, denamarin is also an OTC (over the counter) so no prescription is needed. They both work basically the same way to support a healthy liver function! :)

My cat will not take the Marin. Is ther something else we could try?

Asked by: ZuZu
Denosyl is a daily supplement that helps support proper liver function. Support of a comprised liver, regardless of the cause, is essential if function is to be improved. Denosyl has not only been shown to markedly increase glutathione levels in the livers of dogs and cats, but to go far beyond that. Denosyl has been shown to protect liver cells from cell death and may be useful in cell repair and healing. Its main ingredient is S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe). For cats item #10435
