What are Glyco-Flex Soft Chews?
Glyco-Flex Soft Chews contain the same formula as Glyco-Flex chewable tablets, but are now available as a delicious chicken liver flavored soft chew. Each Glyco Flex Soft Chew contains Perna, Glucosamine, MSM, Dimethylglycine (DMG), and Manganese to help maintain healthy joints. Made in the U.S.A.

How it works:
The active ingredients include glucosamine, Perna Canaliculus (green lipped mussel), and MSM. Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets.
Cautions:
Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not yet been proven. Consult with your veterinarian before using this product in animals: with clotting disorders; being treated with anticoagulant medications; diabetes; or any metabolic disorder causing hyperglycemia; history of urinary tract stones; known allergies to shellfish.

What is this product used for:
Glyco-Flex II Feline is recommended for adult or maturing cats, cats with a moderate need for joint support, or as a follow up to orthopedic surgery.
Glyco-Flex III for dogs is recommended to provide joint and connective tissue support for all stages of life.
Availability:
Glyco-Flex II Feline and Glyco-Flex III Soft Chews are chicken liver flavored, non-prescription (OTC) products.
How should this product be used:
The usual dose of Glyco-Flex II Feline for the first 4-6 weeks is 2 Soft Chews per 10 lbs of body weight, daily. After the initial period, give a maintenance dose of 1 Soft Chew per 10 lbs of body weight, daily. If giving more than 1 chew, divide between AM and PM.
The usual dose of Glyco-Flex III Soft Chews for the first 4-6 weeks in dogs up to 30 lbs is 1 soft chew daily. For dogs 31-60 lbs use 2 soft chews daily, for dogs 61-100 lbs use 4 soft chews daily and for dogs 101 lbs and over use 5 soft chews daily. The maintenance dose for dogs up to 30 lbs is 1 soft chew every other day, for dogs 31-60 lbs is 1 soft chew daily, for dogs 61-100 lbs is 2 soft chews daily, for dogs 101 lbs and over is 3 soft chews daily. If giving more than 1 soft chew daily, divide between AM and PM.
In the event of overdose:
Contact a veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.
What are the side effects:
Administer Soft Chews during or after the animal has eaten to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal upset.
What special precautions are there:
This product is for animal use only. Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. Consult your veterinarian before using this product in animals with clotting disorders or being treated with anticoagulant medications, diabetes or any metabolic disorder causing hyperglycemia, history of urinary tract stones, known allergies to shellfish. If lameness worsens, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian. Glucosamine, in humans, may increase insulin resistance and consequently affect glucose tolerance. Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements.
How should I store this product:
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children and animals.
Directions:

- If giving more than 1 tablet daily, divide between AM and PM.

Great joint supplement

A bit pricy but a noticeble difference improvement
My dog was a little stiff in the morning when she woke up and had a slight limp till she got around. also she is less reluctant to jump off my lap now. It has been an improvement after about 3 1/2 months now. She can run full out playing Frisbee without an occasional yelp every now and then.

My dog won't eat it just alone. Every AM when I feed him, I break the Glycoflex into 2-3 pieces and put it in his food. He eats it no problem.

Glyco-Flex Soft Chews are Excellent
I have a 9.5 year old Chinese Shar-pei that started limping a lot due to arthritis. I didn't want to put him on more medication since he as Shar-pei fever and allergies and takes medication for those. I purchased these Glyco-Flex Soft chews after reading the reviews. My Shar-pei whose somewhat picky, ate them without hesitation. I gave him two a day, one in the morning and one at night as directed for six weeks. And, I noticed that there was no more limping after the first week. He's now on the maintenance dosage of once a day and is doing great because he's playing, swimming, and jumping and he's not limping at all.

Excelent product
My 9 year old germen shepherd was walking around with her head down, and in a lot of pain. X rays showed arthritis in he neck and spine. We got the glycol-flex and gave them to her, and in less than a week, she was like a new dog. She still has pain if she runs or plays to hard, but other than that you would never know she has arthritis. If you have an older dog you love, that is in pain, I recommend you try this product.

I have 2 older dogs that aren't as agile as they use to be. This product really does help and they love it as treats. I give them one each in the morning and evening.

It Worked
My dog, Max, was beginning to suffer from joint pain, so much so that I had to take him to the emergency room over Christmas. My mom told me about these and sent me a package & I followed the directions and in about a month Max was feeling better. In two months he was running around again with a big "lab smile" like I hadn't seen him do in a long time. (He wasn't crippled before, he just took his time, but the night I took him to the emergency room he was in a lot of pain.)
I now continue to give them to both of my Labs - 9 & 10 years old & they are both benefiting greatly. My other lab, Leo, was groaning all of the time. I especially noticed it at night when we slept. He doesn't groan anymore!
I've run out a couple of times and I can always tell in both of my boys. I highly recommend this product (& to follow the suggested guidlines).

Glyco-Flex III is a miracle
I have three dogs and all my dogs are on the Glyco-Flex III every day. One of my babies had been hospitalized for bulging discs in his back and the Glyco-Flex III keeps his pain and inflammation under control. I ran out of Glyco-Flex III for just a few days and my poodle just limped around the house; I now buy Glyco-Flex III before I buy groceries.

What is the difference between the Glycoflex 3 tablet and chews? The price difference of $80 verses $54 seems alot for the same product.
Thank you for your question. The supplements are the same as well as the ingredients. The differences are one is a soft chew and the other is a tablet.

What is the fat content?
My 9 year old boxer has pancreatitis. Although she has not had any issues since her initial episode several years ago, I am very careful to make sure she keeps to a low fat diet.
My bag does not give the fat content. You could probably find that info. on the 1800PetMeds.com site.

Why is the Glyco-Flex II I buy from my vet prescribed for my 50 pound dog and has different ingredient amounts than either your I or II varieties?
The two products seem to be different though both with Glyco-Flex II.
Not sure, I use the III product.

How long are the glyco-flex chews good for? I can find no expiration date?
I don't know but I do find that when the chews get hard and crumbly, it is hard to bet my boys to eat them.

Is dog drinking more?
I don't know if this increase in drinking is because of beginning the GlycoFlex Soft Chews or it was a coincidence that Trevors drinking has increased... He does have diabetes & wasdrinking a large amount of water until he began to take medication...he slowed down considerably but since starting the soft chews....it has increased. we have a doc's appt to discuss the necessary action.. He is otherwise doing quite well and I don't want to stop using them.
Let me know what your Vet says about the increase of drinking. In the past, I had a dog on insulin shots for her diabetes so she drank water a lot. I hope Trevor continues to improve.

Can I give this along with cosequin or just one or the other?
I'm not sure. My Vet recommended only this for my babies.
