What is Composure Max Liquid?
Composure Max Liquid is used to calm pets that exhibit nervousness, hyperactivity, anxiety, or environmentally-induced stress. It can be used safely to help calm pets under stressful situations such as vet visits, visits to the groomer, time at the kennel, traveling and separation anxiety. Composure Max Liquid can also help modify certain behaviors like aggressiveness, incessant barking and shivering during thunderstorms.

How it Works:
Composure Max Liquid is an advanced formula that contains a combination of nutritional factors that reduce certain behavioral problems associated with anxiety. It combines L-theanine, Thiamin (B1), lecithin (from soy), and C3™ (Calming Colostrum Complex), all of which address pet stress. Thiamin (vitamin B1) has been shown to affect the central nervous system, calming and soothing anxious animals. L-theanine has been shown to be helpful in reducing stress and anxiety. Lecithin is calming to the nervous system. The C3™ (Calming Colostrum Complex) is known for its calming effects and works synergistically with the L-theanine also in the formula.
Cautions:
Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If your pet's condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian.

Composure Max Liquid is a calming support supplement for cats and dogs, which is recommended for animals exposed to increased environmental stressors. When pets cannot adapt to stress it can lead to nervousness, hyperactivity, frayed nerves, excess barking, urine marking, repeated paw licking, excessive scratching, shivering, and destructive or aggressive behavior.

Composure Max Liquid is a non-prescription (OTC) product.
How this product should be used:
Shake well before each use. For cats, give ½ teaspoon. For dogs under 25 lbs give ½ teaspoon. For dogs 26-49 lbs give 1 teaspoon. For dogs 50-75 lbs give 1½ teaspoons and for dogs 76 lbs and over give 2 teaspoons.
What are the side effects:
There are no known side effects.

This product is for animal use only. Shake well before using.

Helps my cat with seizures
My vet suggested Composure for my little cat because she has seizures. She wanted to try this before heavier medication. It keeps her calm (without it she runs around like she has ADHD!) and has reduced her seizures from up to two a month to one every other month. SHE comes to ME for the stuff every morning and evening!! She drinks it right out of the lid. I would recommend it to everyone!

In preparation for a plane trip I tried this product on my 11 lb dog.. It had no effect at all when he was calm and in the house. I can only imagine how non effective it would have been when he was stressed.

Dog hates it
I have tried everything to mask the taste and get this into my small dog. He HATES the taste of it so I cant even use it. DONT waste you money on it.

Purebred Corgi - Works wonders on my girl, Molly!
I have a purebred pembroke welsh corgi named Good Golly Ms. Molly, who suffers from separation anxiety, along with the 4th of July Fireworks fears, the thunder and lightning fears and she is so intelligent that she gets bored really easy when left alone. I called my vet and he said that before he would give her a prescribed medicine he wanted me to try some stuff out on PetMeds.com, first. I did and I was so happy I did. I tried two items, but one of them, I just couldn't get Molly to take. The other was the Composure Liquid Max and she laps it up like she's drinking water and it really calms her. Also, PetMeds.Com employees are so very helpful and understanding. I want to shout out a great big

Works Wonders!
Our 3 year-old pit mix is terrified of a number of things - especially fireworks and loud noises. She also has separation anxiety issues, that can result in a lot of stress when there are a lot of people present or she can't see mom & dad nearby. Our vet got us a bottle of this the last time we were in for an annual exam - when Lily was clearly stressed.
We put it to the ultimate test this past week - we threw a 4th of July party with about 50 guests and fireworks on both street corners and alley. I kept Lily on leash as guests arrived, helping her to be comfortable with them, then around 7pm gave her a double dose (she's about 45lbs) and put on her thundershirt. She was zen enough to sit with me on our back porch overlooking our party and actually watch fireworks!! My partner, neighbors, and our guests were amazed that she was so calm, yet so alert! She was like a completely new de-stressed dog!
We haven't tried a single dose, just the double in times of high stress, but I can definitely attest to its success. We'll be using this again the next time we have a high-stress situation for Lily!

Effective! Puts my dog to sleep.
My dog relaxes in about 20 minutes or less. She gets so relaxed she falls sound asleep and I mean sound asleep. The couple times I tried it (only gets half a teaspoon cause she is under 15 lbs) she was shaking in fear from a thunderstorm. Slept through it.
Not as flavorful as others implied. Sees me with the bottle and heads for the doggy door. Just saying.

HAD NO EFFECT
ONLY NEEDED TO SETTLE MY 12 YEAR OLD MALE CAT DOWN TO TRIM HIS NAILS. PRODUCT HAD NO EFFECT. TRIED ON TWO OCCASIONS OVER TWO DAYS. NO CHANGE.

I Was So Hopeful
As some of the other reviewers have said, I just didn't notice anything different, other than for the first hour after I gave Composure to my Dachshund he slept for about an hour. I was so hopeful it would help, as watching him continuously licking, his feet, the sheets, everything is so sad. I know it's anxiety, the Vet has told me so, but I was trying to not go the tranquilizer route! He grew up in a violent home with me and his human father, and when I finally got out he's now in a whole new environment. I too feel like taking the composure, but luckily for people there are many other alternatives. I am at my witts end and I just feel wrong about tranquilizing him, he's not even 4 yet!

Can this liquid be used continually or is it for occassional use only
It can be used on a continually basis. My cat uses it for seizures so she takes it twice a day, every day.

Is this product safe for dogs on Prednisone and Percorten?
My dog has addison's disease. The Prednisone causes a lot of anxiety. Does this product interfere with Prednisone or Percorten?
There are no known drug interactions or side effects of this product, but I would monitor your dog for the first few days of giving the composure to see if there are any unusal reactions or behaviors.

Does Composure Liquid Expire?
After you shake it well what color should it be? Is it normal for it to separate where it looks like it is brown on the bottom and the top of the solution appears to be somewhat of a clear oil?
Thank you for your question Tina, our current inventory of Composure has an expiration date of June 2013. Yes, it is normal for this product to separate because it does have vegetable oil and water as part of the ingredients list.

Is it safe for epiliptic dogs?
I have a 4+ yr old standard poodle that has epileptic seizures. Grromer & Vet cme to the house. She wants to make up to people that come over but always stays her distance. Would this help "take the edge off" of meeting new people? I really don't want to medicate her with valium if I don't have to. She really stresses.
I'm not sure of your question. Are you asking if this product can be used to control epilepsy? The answer to that is no. It cannot control epilepsy. If you are asking if this could be given to an epileptic dog to control stress without causing an increase in epileptic episodes, the answer is yes.

Would this be useful for 5 yr old spayed cat, that get very aggressive towards neutered male cat in the house with her during spring mating season?
She hears, smells, see other cats and gets very aggressive. I have had to use phenobarbital to calm her down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
