What is Malaseb Shampoo?
Malaseb Shampoo is a unique combination of antibacterial and antifungal agents with coat conditioners. It is formulated to help with dandruff, ringworms, yeast, and other bacterial infections.

How it Works:
The ingredient Miconazole Nitrate is antifungal and works against yeast and fungi. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is antibacterial and fights against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. When combined these ingredients help to remove scales, degrease the skin and kill dermatitis-causing microorganisms.

How this product should be used:
Wet coat thoroughly with water. Apply and lather shampoo over the entire body allowing 10 minutes of contact time. Rinse completely with water. Repeat twice a week until symptoms subside, then once a week or as directed by the veterinarian.

This stuff really works!
I am so thankful for finding out about this shampoo. I first learned about Malaseb from a Vet on YouTube who had a dog with yeast infection, fungus & itching similar to my dogs. After using the shampoo for the first time, it made a BIG difference. My dogs are so happy now & I continue to give them a bath once a week. 5 STARS!!!

I bought this hoping it would help my American Bulldog. She experiences yeast issues, approx. once a year...odor, itching, chewing at her paws. This stops it cold!!

Saved my pitbulls skin allergies and my wallet !
My 4 yearold pitbull had horrific skin allergies , erupting blisters, staff infections, then allergic to the antibiotics. After multiple rounds of antibiotics, creams, baths and switching diet (we cook for him), we went to see a veterinary dermatologist, who recommended Malaseb shampoo with baths every other day. That was in June last year. He is now down to weekly baths with Malaseb, and has not had any blisters since. We are grateful for 8 months of no allergies, thanks to Malaseb

Awesome product
Our Rhodesian Ridgeback had a persistent fungal infection that covered his skin with black spots and caused overall hair loss. He also groaned constantly which we attributed to aches and pains from age related arthritis. The prescription shampoo from the vet made no difference.
Luckily, someone from a Ridgeback group I joined on Facebook recommended Malaseb.
After the first shampoo, our dog stopped the groaning completely. Then the spots started disappearing after the second shampoo.
The places where the hair is sparse are beginning to fill in too. I highly recommend Malaseb for problem skin conditions!

Excellent Stuff
I have been turned onto this stuff by my vet the first time one of my horses had some weird fungus on him. But now again since both horses were out in this terrible weather, it is back and I am bathing them both once again with the stuff. It really does work and dries up the bacteria. I am using it to kill rain rot, I call it crud, fungus none the less. It works and works quickly. It also does help with the excessive itching!

Miracle worker
I used this product several years ago on a dog that had contracted a skin disease at the groomer's. It is fantastic. My vet recommended it. I had to use it daily for a week, then twice a week, and then once a week, but it did the trick when nothing else would.

Effective and leaves coat soft
My dog has had bad itching and dry, flaky skin. Seen the vet numerous times and spent a lot of money on this near constant itching and hot spots. Tried using Lipiderm as recommended but was not stopping the itching. Tried brushing him every day to ease dry skin too. After reading extensively on this site I realized he may have yeast and or other bacteria on his skin. His skin did smell yeasty, but didn't realize dogs could have this problem. We don't have any more money for skin scrapings etc at the vet, so thought I would try this product.
Wow! What a difference it has made for our dog. After 1st shampoo - No more yeast smell, itching down about 90% and his coat feels healthy and shiny. 10 min wait on skin worth the bother for the relief our dog has. I cupped his chin in my hand to keep him from licking shampoo and gently petted him with other hand to keep him occupied during the 10 min.
Following the 1-800 vet review we are continuing to use Lipiderm (gel caps) , now at 1 1/2 mo to help take care of the problem from inside out, is supposed to take a month or so to see improvement using Lipiderm.
Plan to use Malaseb shampoo one more time to make the 2nd time in 1 week, hopefully to take care of rest of itching. Using Triple Healer for any hot spots and red open areas, almost gone now. I bought the 1 800 Pets Oatmeal and Aloe Vera Shampoo and Conditioner for usual shampoo after reading the readers comments, to help his dry skin too. Brushing is now 2 - 3X per week.
Our dog is finally getting the relief he needs! Thank you!

Really works
My dog had a bad yeast infection, my vet gave him a shot and prescribe medicated shampoo which worked for at least a month but infection seemed to continue, he would start smelling badly again within three days and skin was dry and flaky. Saw the malaseb shampoo and glad I tried it. First time I used it, I decided to shampoo him twice to get rid of the bad hair and skin infection. He seemed like a new dog, all the skin infection was gone and skin was shiny, nice and soft. After four days, he still does not have any infection and odorless, but I followed the directions and shampooed him again. After a week, he is still odorless, his hair seems to be growing back, his coat and skin was soft and shiny. I am glad I tried this shampoo, maybe expensive, but it works.

Is this okay for puppies?
I am pretty sure that my puppy has some hotspots. I found on line that a antimicrobial shampoo along with some anti-itch cream would fix it. Does this shampoo help with this?
Yes this Shampoo would help with bacterial infections also dandruff, ringworms, and yeast too.

It can be used on cats. My Vet prescribed it for my cat with ringworms.

Flea meds after Malaseb?
Is it safe to put prescription flea medicine( advantix 2) on after bathing my dog with malaseb or should I wait a few days. Worried about any interactions.

Do I need a prescription to ship to UK?
My dog has been given Malaseb by the vet and has told me she'll need it for the rest of her life. Unfortunately my vet wont give me it without a consultation each time which costs £28 plus £31.95 price of the shampoo. This is too costly so I want to just order it online without having to pay for a consultation each time. Is it possible to buy Malaseb without a prescription?

Illegal Presciption?
Is it illegal for my vet to "prescribe" this when this product clearly does not need a prescription? Due to its chemicals; I am leery of using this and wanted to return this to my vet. They refused because they prescribed it. State of California. Thank You.
While it is not illegal for your veterinarian to prescribe this product, they cannot restrict where you purchase it from since it is an over the counter product.
