How this product should be used:
The recommended dose for dogs 1 to 10 lbs is 1 tablet per day. For dogs 11 to 19 lbs the dose is 2 tablets per day. For dogs 20 to 49 lbs the dose is 3 tablets a day. For dogs 50 to 79 lbs give 4 tablets a day and for dogs 80 lbs and over give 7 tablets a day.

A respectable improvement of lawn!
There's no fighting to get our dog to take the big tabs. In fact, when he hears me opening the plastic jar he comes running. When he takes them he either swallows them whole or he gives them a couple of chews before swallowing. The bottle says that you can diminish the dosage to one per day. Well, the improvement in our lawn's condition did a considerable reversal in the improvement. So, we took the dosage back up to two per day and the improvement not only returned but continued. We now have only two 4" diameter spots where a massive dead spot was. After this winter we'll see the tale of the sod but it's looking up already. I'll keep buying for as long as he lives.

Can not live without this
Let me put it this way: 2 female dogs + 5700 sq ft lawn + 5 yrs + GrassSaver tablets = 0 yellow spots.The only yellow spots you will get will be from visiting dogs or nighttime critters. Hint: the TABLETS are the little tiny ones; the WAFERS are the large ones. Tablets totally much easier to use plus dogs can't pick them out.

Not for my Dog
After reading all of the reviews for this product I thought I would give it another try. Not only did it not work, it had an adverse affect on our golden retriever. After 6 weeks of use, the lawn continued to be stained. Ginger became way to restless at night to sleep! She would pant and pace most of the night. I took her off of the pills 1 week ago and 2 days later she was back to normal. Maybe it's just my dog but I cannot recommend this product. In hindsight, Is it right for me to medicate my dog so I have a nicer lawn?

Fantastic!
We also had tried everything and nothing worked. We found that our 100 lb English Labrador Retriever had no problem taking these tossed in her food. I have read over all of the other reviews and because it worked so well for some and not others I wondering if there is a connection with the product and the type of dog food that people are using. We feed our pet Science Diet Adult Large Dog. Two tablets with her kibble in the morning and two in the evening. Worked 100%!! As for the reviewer who thought we should pay more attention to the dog and not the grass. A healthy lawn for the dog to run through and "use" is also very important for their health. Thanks for reading! Oh, I am ordering another bottle now.

Dog Doesn't Like
I have contacted the company and believe they are sending me a refund. My dog didn't like these, even when broken up and put with his food. He picks them out piece by piece and leaves them on the floor.
Product seems to work but force-feeding doesn't so will discontinue use. Will say the company seems to be giving good customer service on their 100% guarantee. If your pet likes the taste, may be worth a try but ask your vet about the health side of it.

Maybe harmful?
My collie mix has been on this product for about four months. At her visit to the vet this week for her comprehensive exam, they found her liver enzymes were high. The label has a warning, re using if animal has any metabolic disease involving the liver or kidneys. I am taking her immediately off of this product and am anxious to have her labs redone in a month to see if this product may be the culprit. I will keep you consumers posted. To be fair though, it does work.

It does work
I have two labs and I so think this product works. I have no yellowing as far as one of the labs is concerned but with the other dog, I have a little bit of yellowing. It's still not as bad as before I started giving this to them. They also don't mind the taste. I just throw them in with their food in the morning and they eat them right up. I would definitely recommend trying this product.

Is there a similar product to Grass Saver for cats?
Methigel Urinary Acidifier is used in cats to maintain a low urine pH. This is similar to the effect of Grass Saver in dogs, which lowers the dogs urine pH.

Can this be used for the purpose of urinary acidification?
My dog needs to keep her urine acid to treat struvite crystals. Can this be used for that?
Grass Saver maintains urine at a normal pH. You might be better to use Methigel Urinary Acidifier since this does maintain urine at an acid pH.

Why does my dogs eat grass??
When the dogs go outside, why do they eat grass, is there something missing in their diet??
Search the Internet for some answers on that. You will probably find a good number of theories. One explanation is that it is good for them. Wheat grass for example is a health food. As far as addressing concerns over it, I found online that veterinary researchers have concluded: "grass eating is a common behavior in normal dogs unrelated to illness and that dogs do not regularly vomit afterward. Vomiting seems to be incidental to, rather than caused by, plant eating."

My dog is on grasssaver it worked for awhile then quit working what should i do now
Test the pH balance of the animal with a kit. Search Google for "pH balance test" or pick one up at your local health food store. The pH should be between 7.35 and 7.45, but it's probably safer to be on the higher end than the lower. I imagine if you assure that the pH balance is good, this should help the grass problem, given that pH lowering is the explanation given for how the Grass Saver product works. Search Google for ways to raise or lower pH levels if need be.

Is this product truly safe for my Lab? He is 6 years, healthy but really killing our lawn.

My two Scottish Terriers are about 8 1/2 Months old, and want to find out if it is okay to give them these tablets.
