This product has worked great on my Pretty Boy he is an Italian Greyhound and had no problem cleaning his teeth with this Nolvadent.

It works!
My two Mini Dachsies have terrible, terrible breath and this stuff works wonders. I do have to use it fairly often and per my Vet, I put a little on a piece of gauze wrapped around my (clean) finger and just rub gently on the outside of their teeth after brushing. Since we started using Nolvadent, I have noticed a difference in their teeth and gums. Definitely healthier than when I was only brushing. I highly recommend this stuff and it's practically half the price I paid for it at the vet! Seriously worth it!

Can I add Nolvadent Oral Cleansing Solution to my dog's drinking water?

Why does the dental cleanser have red dye added?
Hi there, its a common practice sometimes to match the flavor (with coloring), in this instinct the flavoring is pepperment. :)

How can the dog use as an oral rinse
How can they not swallow it? I guess I am confused on the concept.
I don't use it as a rinse. My vet advised to put the rinse on a piece of gauze and gently rub it on the outside of my dog's teeth. This way works great for me. I'm honestly not sure how to use it as a rinse.

The price of Nolvadent in my vet's office has reached almost $40. Why is this product so expensive? Is there another rinse I can use?
My little 6 year old mixed breed dog who we adopted recently has some tartar buildup, and I want to start cleaning his teeth with a mouth rinse. I plan to introduce cleaning by dipping a soft terry cloth in the rinse and cleaning his teeth and gums by gentle wiping with my finger first, so he will not ingest any rinse by swallowing it. After he gets accustomed to this procedure, I plan to introduce a soft toothbrush and pet toothpaste.I have used Novaldent rinse for the dogs I have owned previously, however, the cost has doubled in the last couple of years, from $18 to $38. We can only purchase it through the veterinarian clinics, so I would appreciate your suggestions for finding a good alternative. Thanks for your help.
Ty C.E.T. 0.12% Chlorhexadine Rinse. It is way cheaper and recommended to me by a veterinary dentist for my dog with CUPS disease.
