How to Bathe Your Pet

Do not use human shampoos on pet skin. Human grade shampoos contain chemicals that are too harsh to use on pet’s skin. Bathe your pet with a shampoo specially formulated for their skin and coat needs.

When bathing your dog, always use a shampoo formuated for pets

Set up the area where you will be bathing your pet by gathering all necessary items (shampoo, towels, etc.) and placing them nearby.

Use a washcloth to clean your pet's face and ears.

Dilute the shampoo with water (1:10 ratio) to decrease the concentration of the shampoo. This makes it easier to distribute through the skin and easier to rinse.
Leave the shampoo on your pet for 10 minutes.
Rinse the shampoo from your pet’s skin thoroughly, removing all excess shampoo residue. Follow with a pet conditioner.

Max's Tip: If using a flea preventative, wait at least 24 hours after bathing your pet before applying.
