Control Your Pet's Itching & Allergies from Fleas

The #1 cause of itching is fleas. If your pet is itching excessively it could be the result of several may have an allergy to flea saliva or flea allergy dermatitis. Even though you do not see fleas on your pet, it only takes one flea bite to cause an allergic reaction. To help relieve your pet's suffering, follow these simple steps:

Treat the skin.

Soothe your pet's skin allergies, redness, and hot spots with a topical spray or shampoo.

Add Omega 3 to your pet's diet.

Most commercial pet foods are deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids. Adding Omega 3 may help decrease inflammation and keep your pet's skin healthy. Give your pet foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids like salmon or Eat Great Be Well dog food. Or, simply give your pet a daily vitamin with Omega 3.

Use flea & tick prevention.

Use a flea preventative that repels fleas before they bite.

I love K9 Advantix. It has been the most reliable product I've used for flea and tick prevention. I find that I worry a lot less when we are out on hikes through the woods because I know my "kids" are protected. I have never seen even one flea on them. My dogs are happy, I'm happy, I love the product. - George

Rid home and yard of fleas.

It's important to prevent future skin infections and allergies by eliminating fleas in your home and yard.

Max's Tip: Wait one day after applying flea preventatives before bathing your pet. Consider using a shampoo that does not wash away flea preventatives, like 1-800-PetMeds Oatmeal & Aloe Vera Shampoo.
