What Are The Benefits Of Revolution?

Revolution can be used for dogs and cats.  In dogs, Revolution prevents heartworm disease, kills adult fleas, prevents flea eggs from hatching, treats and controls ear mites, treats and controls sarcoptic mange, and controls the American dog tick.

In cats, Revolution prevents heartworm disease, kills adult fleas, prevents flea eggs from hatching, treats and controls ear mites, and treats and controls roundworms.  All of this protection in one application of Revolution!

How Do I Apply Revolution?

Revolution is a topical product which you apply once per month. Revolution comes in an easy-to-use applicator tube.  To apply, simply part your pet’s fur at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades, and squeeze the entire contents of the Revolution tube directly on the skin.

How Does Revolution Work?

The active ingredient in Revolution is selamactin.  When you apply Revolution to your pet’s skin, the selamactin enters the bloodstream and tissues where it prevents heartworm disease.  Revolution re-distributes back from the blood to the skin to protect against fleas, flea eggs, ear mites and, in dogs, the American dog tick.

Does Revolution Have Any Side Effects?

Revolution has been found to be safe and is generally well-tolerated by pets.  Less than 1% of cats and dogs experienced digestive upset after use of Revolution.  A small percentage of pets experienced temporary hair loss at the site where Revolution was applied.  Revolution should not be used on pets that are underweight or ill.

What Else Should I know about Revolution?

Revolution is a prescription medication, and can be used on cats and kittens 8 weeks of age or older, and dogs or puppies 6 weeks of age or older.  Revolution comes in different doses based upon the weight of your dog or cat.
