Is Revolution Right For Your Pet?

With all the different choices, how do you know if Revolution is right for your dog or cat? You know that Revolution is a safe, topical product which protects your pet from heartworms, fleas and ear mites. Additionally, Revolution protects dogs from ticks and sarcoptic mange, and cats from roundworms and hook worms. As a concerned pet parent, reading reviews from other users of Revolution may be beneficial.
Revolution: Product Reviews
An owner of a Dalmatian/Bull Terrier mix recently wrote about Revolution: “I feel that for the same application I’m getting more bang for my buck. Works beautifully.”
Another pet parent using Revolution for cats wrote: “I have three cats and one of them is super sensitive to flea treatments. He has no problem with Revolution and it works! I love going through PetMeds! It is so much cheaper than my vet and usually only takes a couple of days to reach my house.”
Many users especially liked the convenience of using an all-in-one product like Revolution. Daisy’s pet parent wrote of Revolution: “I was using Advantage & heartworm but had a hard time getting Daisy to eat the Heartworm. When I found the Revolution, it is great. Have had no problem with fleas or worms and it is so easy to apply.”
While Revolution is a great choice for many pets, not all found this the best product for their pet. One user wrote about Revolution: “…doesn’t cover brown dog ticks… thought they were covered – dogs both infested.”
Alternatives to Revolution
As the last reviewer noted, Revolution only treats the American Dog Tick, and does not treat ticks in cats. If you live in an area where ticks are a concern, you can use a product such as Frontline Plus which kills all stages of the flea life cycle and also Brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, Lone Star ticks and Deer ticks. Frontline is safe for use on dogs or cats. For use on dogs only, you can also consider K9 Advantix, which kills and repels fleas, ticks and mosquitoes, and is also effective on Deer ticks, American dog ticks, Brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks
Remember, if you choose Frontline Plus or K9 Advantix for flea and tick control, you will need to choose a separate product to protect your pet from heartworms.
