Is Frontline the Right Choice for My Pet?

As a concerned pet parent, you want to make sure Frontline is the best flea control product for your cat or dog. Frontline is one of the most popular products on the market today because it has been proven to be safe and effective. Are there any alternative products that you should consider?
Frontline: Kills Fleas, Ticks and Chewing Lice
If you are trying to decide if Frontline is your best choice, you first need to determine which pests you need to control, and whether you need to control pests on dogs, cats or both. Frontline Plus and Frontline Top Spot are made for dogs and cats, and kill fleas, ticks and chewing lice. Frontline Plus also contains the ingredient S-methoprene, which kills flea eggs and flea larvae.
An Alternative to Frontline for Treating Fleas, but not Ticks
If you only need to treat your dog or cat for fleas, you might wish to consider Advantage II as an alternative to Frontline. Advantage II is also made for cats and dogs. Like Frontline Plus, Advantage II kills all stages of the flea life cycle: fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae. Advantage II treats, prevents and controls lice in dogs, only.Advantage II does not kill ticks.
An Alternative to Frontline for Use on Dogs, Only
K9 Advantix II offers even more comprehensive protection than Frontline. K9 Advantix II, for use on dogs only, protects against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, biting flies and chewing lice. In addition to killing these pests, K9 Advantix II also repels fleas, mosquitoes, ticks and biting flies. Like Frontline Plus, K9 Advantix II is effective against all stages of the flea life cycle: adult fleas, eggs and flea larvae. K9 Advantix II is not for use on cats.
Generic Alternatives to Frontline
If you have decided Frontline is right for you, you may wonder if there are any cost-saving generic alternatives to Frontline. You might wish to consider Fiproguard, which is the generic equivalent to Frontline Top Spot, or Fiproguard Plus, which is the generic equivalent to Frontline Plus. Another alternative is Pet Armor, which is the generic equivalent to Frontline Top Spot. Both Fiproguard and Pet Armor contain the same active ingredients as Frontline so you get the same great protection, but at a lower price.
