I am a little confused since it isn't a 1cc needle. Is it 8 units = 0.4cc? I want to make sure before I use it on my dog. Thanks!

Regardless of which U-100 syringe you are using, whether 3/10 ml, 1/2 ml or 1 ml, 8 units of U-100 insulin such as Humulin-N would be filling the syringe to the small mark just before the larger 10 Unit marking.

There are only a few states that require
a prescription to purchase syringes.
You do need a prescription for all Rx
required medications, but you do not need a
prescription for over-the-counter products.
Our vet says we need to give 0.9 I.U. How do I convert to CC?

Answer:Â
You're giving a very small amount of Humulin N. I would recommend you use the U-100 3/10 (0.3) cc syringe. There are 30 marks on the syringe barrel. Each mark is 1 I.U. You need to draw up Humulin-N to just below the 1st mark above the needle. Please let me know if you are still not clear.
