Geriatric cat
We have a 17 year old, 13-15 pound sweetheart who has hip problems (amongst other problems) accentuated by the change in weather. After reading some of the reviews I decided to give this a try since cats cannot take NSAIDs like dogs can. She is a smart cookie and you can't pull one over on her, no sir-ee, she would have none of that "trying to trick me into taking a pill" by crushing it and mixinig or imbedding it into a piece of meat. We decided to start with a 1/2 a pill by placing it on the back of her tongue, holding her mouth closed and caressing her throat until she swallowed. A swab of food gravy on her lips helped it go down quicker. It does make her a little bobble head and for her, 1/2 pill seems to last 12-24 hours. It does make her a little lethargic but once she is up and moving her hips seem to function better. We have backed off to every other day, 1/2 pill before bed so that she has those lucid moments in between dosages. She did urinate in her bed and in the hall once or twice because she could not make it all the way to the litter box. To be expected at this stage in her life and we do what we have to do to take care of her. We know we don't have much time left with her so it is a comfort to know that there are no side effects and it really does help alleviate her pain.
*The bottle only provides instructions for humans so print a screen shot from the PetMeds posting for reference. Highly recommend!

Not made for pets
While it may be early to tell whether or not Traumeel will work on my golden retriever's leg pain and swelling (not working yet), I wanted to make sure everyone understands this is not specifically a pet medication. In reality, there are no mentions of pets, nor are there any instructions on the bottle. This is a people medication. It is actually supposed to "dissolve in the mouth". Not sure about you, but there is no way I can get my dog to do that. Traumeel website lists drops that may work better if you can't find a pet alternative.

Thank you for your question Amelia and happy holidays. As with most over the counter medications, if your furry buddy does not show signs of improvement, please consult with your veterinarian.
Hi there, since your Furry Friend is using Enalapril you definitely want to ask the vet before using this medication since he would know your Furry Child the best and will be able to give you the correct medical advise.
