Traumeel Tablets 4.5 5 15 15
Geriatric cat We have a 17 year old, 13-15 pound sweetheart who has hip problems (amongst other problems) accentuated by the change in weather. After reading some of the reviews I decided to give this a try since cats cannot take NSAIDs like dogs can. She is a smart cookie and you can't pull one over on her, no sir-ee, she would have none of that "trying to trick me into taking a pill" by crushing it and mixinig or imbedding it into a piece of meat. We decided to start with a 1/2 a pill by placing it on the back of her tongue, holding her mouth closed and caressing her throat until she swallowed. A swab of food gravy on her lips helped it go down quicker. It does make her a little bobble head and for her, 1/2 pill seems to last 12-24 hours. It does make her a little lethargic but once she is up and moving her hips seem to function better. We have backed off to every other day, 1/2 pill before bed so that she has those lucid moments in between dosages. She did urinate in her bed and in the hall once or twice because she could not make it all the way to the litter box. To be expected at this stage in her life and we do what we have to do to take care of her. We know we don't have much time left with her so it is a comfort to know that there are no side effects and it really does help alleviate her pain. *The bottle only provides instructions for humans so print a screen shot from the PetMeds posting for reference. Highly recommend! 11/20/2012
Excellent for cats i have a 33 pd cat with arthritis in his hips. he loves this medication and actually comes to me for it. i take one tablet, crush it, mix it with a little water, suck it up into a dropper and squirt it into his mouth, within 10 minutes he is a happy kitty. 01/11/2013
Not made for pets While it may be early to tell whether or not Traumeel will work on my golden retriever's leg pain and swelling (not working yet), I wanted to make sure everyone understands this is not specifically a pet medication. In reality, there are no mentions of pets, nor are there any instructions on the bottle. This is a people medication. It is actually supposed to "dissolve in the mouth". Not sure about you, but there is no way I can get my dog to do that. Traumeel website lists drops that may work better if you can't find a pet alternative. 08/05/2012
Traumeel our dog has bad legs from bad breeding with bloodline we used the Traumeel to help him with his limp after surgery an it helped him he does not walk with a limp now we still give him one a day for maintenance. 10/08/2011
Can't say enough good things about this product! I have a 10 year old dachshund who started showing signs of mild to moderate arthritis about 6 months ago. I was so sad to see him lying down and wanting to get up when I called him but he physically couldn't. I was also worried about how we would treat his arthritis considering most canine NSAIDs commonly used to treat arthritis are liver-toxix and Raleigh already has a compromised liver from a congenital defect (hepatic MVD). I had remembered a homeopathic vet I knew once had recommended Traumeel for Raleigh when he sprained his back and neck. I started him on 2 pills a day (am & pm) and within a couple days he had no problems getting back up from sitting or laying. And within a week, he was running around like a puppy through the park. He seemed as thrilled as I was to be able to move comfortably and have fun again at his favorite place on Earth...the park! :-) Since using this product for Raleigh I have told every dachshund or senior dog owner I know of this product. I've given people the name while waiting at vet's offices. I couldn't be happier with what it's done for my little man. I've also used it for my foster dogs after spays/neuters, for a dog who had skin inflammation from severe demodex mange, and I'm using it down for a dachshund with severe dental decay & a very sore mouth (dental scheduled for a few days from now.) I wish more people turned to homeopathic options for their pets. =) 08/29/2011
