1-800-PetMeds Super Pure Omega 3 is a non-prescription (OTC) product with no artificial colors or flavors added and available as a softgel capsule or liquid for use in dogs and cats.

How should this product be used:
The suggested daily dose of Omega 3 Softgel is 1 capsule for every 50lbs of body weight or fraction thereof given once a day (for dogs 1 to 50 lbs give 1 capsule, for dogs 51 to 100 lbs give 2 capsules, for dogs 101 to 150 lbs give 3 capsules). Capsules may be punctured and mixed with food.
Omega 3 Liquid: Use 1ml daily for every 10lbs of body weight. Liquid may be squirted directly into the mouth or put on food (Each oral dropper is 1ml).

Amazing results My 6 year old, 68 pound Golden Retriever has had trouble with skin infections, ear infections, hot spots and relentless itching. Less itching My French Bull Dog Zoey itched all the time although she had no obvious skin sores. Helps joint stiffness My 2 yr old large dog was showing signs of stiffness in front legs after lying down for a long time. I added Cosequin DS to his diet and saw some improvement after a few weeks. I then added the Super Pure Omega 3 and after the first bottle there was no stiffness at all. My vet approves of both supplements and suggested I continue to use both. I just add them to his food and he eats them with no problem. 04/20/2012

There are no reported side effects. Dogs eat grass due to an upset stomach. if your dog experiences this everytime you give them Super Pure Omega 3 then it might be causing an stomach upset. if you are giving your dog this on an empty stomach you may want puncture the pill and apply to a small amount of food.

dog is loosing his hair. He's pretty itch. I bath him with medicated shampoo.

My 5 yr old yorki is loosing his hair. Gave the pill for fleas. Not working. Has fleas. I have omega3 with vit D. Can I give this to him? Also can I give Betadine for the skin?

Why don't you use Advantix that takes care of fleas, ticks and prevents mosquito bite, too. Yes, you can use the Omega 3. but I would check with a vet before using the betadine..it might irritate his skin.

The Frontline spray is a great product to rid your pet of fleas. Betadine is a liquid antiseptic and antibacterial agent. It is typically used to prevent bacterial infections from cuts, scrapes, and wounds. I also recommend applying some Neosporin to the scratch marks after you clean them. Yes, you can give the Omega 3 with Vit D.
