What is PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System?

Watch your pets play, not stray! Safe and reliable, the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System is an easy-to-use, wireless containment system that keeps your pet within a designated area up to a half acre (180 feet) in diameter. With no wires to bury, the only thing you'll be digging is the peace of mind this conveniently portable wireless fencing system delivers! The PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System comes with a transmitter, one receiver, 50 boundary flags for help training your pet, and a detailed manual that fully explains all installation and training instructions. Please Note: Extra collars are available at an additional cost.

For:

Dogs 8 pounds and up and neck sizes 6" - 28"

Benefits:
  • No wires to bury easy set up
  • Portable wireless system sets up in 12 hours
  • Receiver delivers safe static correction when your pet strays into warning zone
  • Tone-only mode alerts your pet with a beep
  • 5 adjustable levels of correction
  • Covers an adjustable circular area up to a 1/2 acre (180 feet in diameter)
  • Proven safe, comfortable, and effective for dogs over 8 pounds
  • Waterproof receiver features low battery indicator battery included
  • 30second time out correction stops after 30 seconds
  • Extra wireless receiver collar & battery available
How it Works:

With no wires to bury or fuss with, this wireless fencing system works by transmitting a painless radio signal to the Receiver Collar worn by your pet. With proper visual aid training and instruction, your pet can frolic freely in the area you have defined. When your pet reaches the designated "boundary zone" you have created, the receiver collar gives a warning beep before it delivers a safe static correction through the contact points on the collar. Most dogs learn new yard boundaries quickly and comfortably as a simple signal from a small unit in your home to your dog's collar. If you have more than one dog, you can purchase multiple collars, all of which work with the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System. Extra batteries are also available.

Cautions:

Read enclosed Operating & Training Instructions carefully before and during initial use. It is important to include Reinforcement Training for your pet on a regular basis. This wireless fencing system is NOT a solid barrier. It is designed to act as a deterrent to remind pets to remain in the boundary you've established. Since tolerance levels vary from pet to pet, not all pets can be trained to avoid crossing the boundary! Do NOT rely solely upon this device to confine your pet.

How to Use
Directions for the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System:

For in-depth installation details, please read the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System manual.

Setting up the Transmitter:

  • The Transmitter plugs into any standard 110-volt outlet. Keeping the enclosed Instruction and Operating Manual handy, choose the desired location you would like your transmitter to be. The transmitter works best when it's in the center of the area you would like covered.
  • Keep transmitter 2-4 feet off the floor and in a dry, well-ventilated spot. The transmitter can be mounted to a wall, but keep it near an outlet and at least 3 feet away from any large metal objects. Never place anything on top of the transmitter.
  • For 45 feet or less coverage area, use the LOW setting. For areas greater than 45 feet, use the HIGH setting.
  • Setting up the receiver collar: After you have set up your transmitter, charge the receiver collar. The charge on the collar should last 2-3 weeks depending on how many times your dog challenges the boundary.
  • Make sure the collar is fully charged before use and press and hold the mode button to turn the collar on. Test the collar by using the provided test light tool. Turn the collar on and walk out into the yard. The collar will flash and beep as you approach the boundary area and the light on the test light tool with illuminate.
  • The collar should be snug and touching your pet's skin. For long-haired dogs, change out the contacts points for maximum effect. NEVER pull the collar to put pressure on the probes.

Important information about the receiver collar:

  • Remove the collar at night and when leaving the boundary zone (for car rides or walks outside the designated pet area)
  • The collar should never be worn more than 12 hours.
  • Clean and check the collar probes regularly.
  • Recharge the unit only when it blinks red. (The unit will blink yellow at 20%-60% battery life & green with full 60% or more battery life)
  • While charging, the light is a solid red, and changes to solid green when complete.
  • Always begin training your pet on the lowest correction setting.

Important Tips on Training Your Dog with the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System:

  • Refer to the detailed training guide included with the system.
  • Proper training is essential. Allow at least 2 weeks before fully utilizing the system unsupervised, noting that some dogs take longer to train than others.
  • Have fun with your pet during the training period, but be fair, firm, and consistent.
  • This wireless fencing system is portable, so boundaries can be re-established by repeating the instructions when necessary. The Transmitter plugs into any standard 110-volt outlet.

Customer Reviews
PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very trust worthy product! We got this for our 2 Jack Russel Terrier puppies who are now 9 months and 6 months. We live on 1 acre of open space on a not so busy street. Super easy to set up and to train your pups with it. They now know their boundries and can run free in the yard without crossing that line. This product is a God sent!!! Now, we have no worries about letting them outside and staying close to the house. They seem to love it too. They know when their collars go on, they get to go outside and they actually stay in the yard. Very reliable. AWESOME PRODUCT!

I live in a sheetmetal covered house. Will this work?

Asked by: Apollo
Possibly brick buildings or sheet metal could interfere. You would be able to determine how far it would go with one person who should be at the transmitter to adjust the device for the desired area, while the other person walks in the yard/area to test the collar. This wireless fencing system is portable, so boundaries can be re-established by repeating the instructions when necessary.

can this sytems be transferred to another house's yard if you move?

Asked by: Gracie
Yes. Whether is it camping or taking the dogs to grandma's house, we always bring the system with us. We have had the system for 5 years and love it. It is easy to set up and all you need to do is walk around the yard with the collar to check the boundary limit is safe once the system is plugged in.

Can I set up a point to point boundary as opposed to a circular boundary

Asked by: Homer
It only lets you have a circular boundry. If you have a lot of hills and uneven ground, you may have some issues.
