What is Yard and Park Static Remote Trainer?

The Yard and Park Static Remote Trainer allows you to train your dog at a range of up to 400 yards. The unit features 8 stimulation levels to fit your dog's temperament and obedience level. A second training feature is the tone-only mode with negative and positive tones for comprehensive praise and behavior modification training. The collar can be used to teach basic obedience commands including sit and stay as well as to correct bad behavior including digging, chasing, and excessive barking. The transmitter and collar are waterproof and feature a low battery life indicator. The collar is lightweight and adjustable for a comfortable fit. The collar includes rechargeable batteries and charger.

For:

Dogs (over 8lbs)

Benefits:
  • 400-yard range remote obedience collar
  • Tone-only mode with positive and negative sounds
  • 8 stimulation levels
  • Waterproof collar and receiver
  • Low battery life indicator on receiver and transmitter
  • Includes rechargeable NiMH batteries and charger
  • For dogs over 8 lbs.
How it Works:

The Yard and Park Static Remote Trainer trains your dog by transmitting a stimulation at the intensity level of your choice or an audible correction to your dog's collar within a distance of 400 yards.

Cautions:

For use on dogs only. Avoid leaving the collar on your dog for more than 12 hours per day. Reposition the collar on the neck every 1 to 2 hours. Do not connect a walking lead to the collar.

How to Use
For in-depth usage details, please read the Yard and Park Static Remote Trainer manual.
Directions:
  • Charging the transmitter: Lift the rubber cover protecting the charging jack. Connect one of the charger connectors to the jack. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. The red light will appear. Charge for 24 hours for the first charge. Recharges take 12 hours. Replace rubber cover when charging is completed. Approximate battery life between charges is 40 to 60 hours, depending on frequency of use.
  • Charging the collar: Lift the rubber cover protecting the charging jack. Connect one of the charger connectors to the jack. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. Charge the receiver collar for 24 hours for the first charge. Recharges take 12 hours. Replace rubber cover when charging is completed. Approximate battery life between charges is 15-20 hours, depending on frequency of use.
  • Note: The transmitter and receiver lights will be solid green after 12 hours of charging. For the first charge, continue to charge for an additional 12 hours.
  • Turning receiver on/off: Press and hold the On/Off button until the receiver light is solid green and collar beeps low to high. The receiver light will flash green once every 5 seconds to let you know it is on. The flashing light indicates the collar is ready to receive a radio signal from the handheld transmitter. To turn off: Press and hold the On/Off button until the receiver light is solid red and the collar beeps high to low. Note: To extend the life between charging cycles, turn the collar off when it is not in use.
  • Fitting the collar: The proper fit and placement of the collar is important for effective operation. The contact points must have direct contact with your dog's skin on the underside of his or her neck. Turn off collar. With your dog standing comfortably, place the collar on your dog's neck close to the ears with the contact points centered underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin. Note: It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around the contact points for consistent operation. Check the tightness by inserting one finger between the collar and your dog's neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting. Allow your dog to wear the collar for several minutes then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your dog becomes more comfortable with the collar.
  • Refer to manual for detailed programming, testing, and charging instructions, and training techniques.
Tip:

Do not shave your pet's neck as this may cause skin irritation.

Customer Reviews
Yard and Park Static Remote Trainer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good We have a 120lb male lab, about 2 years old. We were using this as a shock collar to correct bad behavior with a constant barking, crying, and whining for no reason. At the request of our vet to give this product a try, it seemed to work fine for the first few days. Once the dog knew the collar was off, he was back to his old tricks. We now keep it on him all the time. Even the highest shock setting is not high enough. We wish there was more out of this to really offer a punch. That is why we gave it 4 stars. We're looking for something to bring our dog to it's knees. We tend to go thru batteries 3 times a week with the amount of shocking we do to correct bad behavior. The vet thinks the dog wants to be entertained a lot. When we play with him the barking is a little less. We have another dog that has never needed any shock treatments, being the same breed and all, she wants not much to do with our male dog. We are considering using two collars at the same time for double the impact. The only problem is we think he is getting use to it and does not care anymore. We have shaved his hair around his neck to make sure the shock prongs make good contact with the skin and all. Maybe if some manufacture made a shock collar that would supply a constant shock as long as you hold the button down rather than just a quick bust, it would work better. I did try this on myself around my leg to see the impact it was gonna have on me, and even on its highest setting is nothing like playing with live electrical wires in the house. Maybe on a smaller dog this will correct problems, but on a large dog, having to result to other means to correct bad behavior may be your best course of action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great dog training aid I had a very difficult time teaching my dog the meaning of NO. After placing the collar on my dog and when she did something wrong I used the negative tone 1st as well as the word no. If she continued to disobey I would use the stimulation and she learned very quickly within one day what the word no means. The tones for positive and negative are a great feature. She responds to the negative tone very well now.

What if I have more than one dog

Asked by: Kel
Each collar/remote can be used for one dog, so an additional collar/remote would be needed for each additional dog.

It works without the remote as well?

If we were to be sitting on the porch, and our dog was sitting at the window barking (as he often does if we don't let him out with us) would it give a shock, or only if we hit the button?
Asked by: Anonymous
The answer is NO. It only works with the remote. It does not sense barking and give automatic corrections.

This collar works as a automatic bark control as well as a remote trainer?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it will help reduce barking, I don't want my dog to stop barking completely, but if it is late at night and she is barking late at night I do not want her disburbing other people.
