Brand Name FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs (FURminator)
What is this product used for: The FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs is used to remove dead, loose hair from your dog's undercoat, which promotes healthier skin and coat.
How this product should be used: Although you can use the FURminator on a coat that isn't freshly washed, you may see better results if you shampoo and dry your dog's coat before you use the deShedding tool. However, do not use the tool until the coat is COMPLETELY dry.
For easy clean up, use the FURminator in an area that is easy to sweep or vacuum.
To protect your dog, be sure you thoroughly inspect your dog's coat and skin before you begin using the FURminator to make sure there are no cuts, bruises, abrasions, sores, or skin conditions on the skin or any matted areas or tangles in the fur. Because your dog's coat can hide skin conditions, make sure you inspect your dog's skin closely. DO NOT use the FURminator if your dog has any skin conditions. Instead, take your dog to a veterinarian for professional treatment. It's also important not to try to comb through matted or tangled fur. To remove mats or tangles, you should take your dog to the groomer or use professional grooming tools at home.
What special precautions are there: DO NOT use the FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs if your dog has any sores, cuts bruises, abrasions, or skin conditions, and DO NOT use if your do's coat has tangles or matting.
Directions:
•
Before using the FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs, inspect and remove any tangles and/or matting from your dog's coat with proper professional grooming tools.
•
Use on a clean, dry coat.
•
Always start from the head and move down the body, ensuring that the blade and teeth are angled toward the coat. Comb only in the direction the coat grows, and do not use on or around sensitive areas like ears, paws, legs, and genitals.
•
Gently and slowly glide the tool, using long, smooth strokes in the direction of hair growth. Keep the tool up and away from your dog's skin, touching only the coat. Do not use repeated strokes in the same area, and do not apply too much pressure on the tool as you comb, as doing so can irritate your dog's skin and cause discomfort. Dogs with sensitive skin may suffer brush burns even with light combing. If you notice any redness or irritation, stop using the tool immediately, and discontinue use until you've spoken with your veterinarian about your dog's skin reactions.
•
When you've finished grooming your dog, always remember to store the tool in a safe place, out of the reach of children.
Tip: For best results, use once or twice a week.

Great Product
This is a great product. I didn't believe it when in the pet store, saw the video and thought...NO WAY! But it is a gem. First use on our Bullmastiff Lucy and we must have combed off 5 pounds of hair.
Well worth the extra money and no shedding!

Amazing product
I have a 5 year old white German Shepherd. Like all GSD he is a major shedder. I was told about this tool by a fellow GSD owner and it really works. It removes large lumps of hair from the undercoat. I noticed that Jake's coat looked healthier after brushing. I highly recommend this tool.

Life Changing!
.The FURminator changed my life! I have 2 Corgi's & man they shed. The dogs love it and so do I. They look & feel great & it’s a perfect way to bond closer with your pet. Warning the first time you use it, there is going to be a ton of hair, I was amazed. Both my dogs when racing around when I was done letting me know it felt awesome. Worth the investment, I have fewer trips to the groomers & brushing now is more quality time with my dogs then a tedious job.

Furminator
We are very pleased with Furminator. I gets rid of the loose hair that will be where we don't want it to be and Diesel loves it to be used on him.

Thank-you for your question. The width of the blade increases as you go up in sizes. The teeth come in 2 sizes: one for hair longer than 2" and one for hair shorter than 2". The combination of sizes allow for shedding control for pets of all sizes that have long or short fur. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question Pocket's Mommy. As a professional groomer, you want to make sure your furry buddy has clean and dry fur before using the Furminator. To help reduce static cling, lightly mist your pet's fur with either a leave in conditioner, finishing spray or even an unscented dryer-sheet.
