How this product should be used: The recommended daily feeding guidelines are for Toy dogs 3-12 lbs give 1/2 - 1 1/4 cups, for Small dogs 13-25 lbs give 1 1/4 – 2 cups, for Medium dogs 26-50 lbs give 2 – 3 3/4 cups, for Large dogs 51-100 lbs give 3 3/4 – 6 3/4 cups and for Extra Large dogs over 100 lbs give 6 3/4 plus ½ cup for each 10 lbs of body weight over 100 lbs. (One standard 8 oz measuring cup = 4.4 oz or 125 grams).
What are the side effects: There are no known side effects.
What special precautions are there: Pregnant or nursing dogs should be allowed to consume food according to appetite, and at times, may eat 2-3 times the normal expected amount. Puppies will start eating moistened, solid food at 3-4 weeks of age. After weaning, puppies need added energy and protein that will require up to 1 1/2 to 2 times as much food as adult dogs, therefore feed them as much dry food as they want. Feed moist food 3-4 times a day for the first half year, then 2 times a day for the next 6-12 months. Remember, larger breeds mature slower than small breeds. Always have fresh, clean water available for your dog.
