How it works:
Each Dog Worms 3 chewable tablet contains pyrantel pamoate and praziquantel. Pyrantel pamoate causes the parasite to lose grip of the intestinal wall, which makes it pass out of the system naturally. Praziquantel damages the parasite's skin internally, so the parasite disintegrates and is removed by your dog's immune system.

What is this product used for: Dog Worms 3 chewable tablets are used for the treatment and control of roundworms (T. canis and T. leonine): hookworms (A. caninum, A. braziliense, U. stenocephala): and tapeworms (D. caninum, T. pisiformis) in dogs and puppies 12 weeks of age and older and weighing 6 lbs or more.
Availability: Dog Worms 3 is a non-prescription (OTC) product available as pork liver flavored chewable tablets in strengths for small dogs (6-25 lbs) and medium to large dogs (Over 25 lbs).
How this product should be used:
The usual dose of Dog Worms 3 for Small Dogs and Puppies weighing 6.0-12.0 lbs is 1 tablet. For dogs and puppies weighing 12.1-25 lbs give 2 tablets. Give tablets as a single dose.
For dogs weighing more than 25 lbs use the 114mg size. The usual dose of Dog Worms 3 for Medium and large dogs weighing 25.1-50 lbs is 1 tablet.
For dogs 50.1-100lbs give 2 tablets, for dogs 100.1-150 lbs give 3 tablets and for dogs 150.1-200 lbs give 4 tablets. Give tablets as a single dose.
Offer the proper dosage by hand or in the dog's food container, with or without food. Do not withhold food from your dog prior to or after treatment.
What are the side effects: Side effects that may occur can include vomiting, loose stools (with or without blood) and decreased activity following treatment. If you notice these signs, contact a veterinarian.
What special precautions are there: For use in dogs 12 weeks of age and older only. The safety of Dog Worms 3 chewable tablets in breeding dogs and pregnant bitches has not been determined. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. In case of ingestion by humans, contact a physician immediately. Physicians may contact a Poison Control Center for advice concerning ingestion by humans.

Yes, it worked for Eddie!
My 16 year old Jack Russell is always nervous at the vet so when I noticed he had tapeworms I decided to try Dog Worms 3.
It took a few days for me to know for certain - he's a bit shy too. But when Eddie's coat began to improve and he was putting back on the weight he'd lost I had a feeling it may have worked.
It did. Today i was able to confirm that Dog Worms 3 worked for Eddie.

Tapes worms gone!
I don't know about other types of worms, but my dog had a tape worm problem and DW3 made quick work of it. Very cost effective too, to treat my 6 dogs. MUCH better than the $400+ vet bill would be.

Thank you for your question unfortunately Dog Worms 3 is for dogs at 6lbs and over, you may want to look at another dewormer called Panacur C, item# 10672, it is made for small dogs such as yours.

Heartworm prevention medication is a prescription medication and we would suggest to have your vet which knows your furry pal best advise you onto which medication to use. As for our most popular Heartworm preventative we would suggest Heartgard Plus or the generic which is Iverhart Plus. Give your furry pal a belly rub from us.
You can use Heartgard Chewables with the Dog Worms 3. However, if you use Heartgard Plus, there is no need to use Dog Worms 3 along with it because the Heartgard Plus covers heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms as well......
Sorry not this brand. I own five dogs and always wormed them with a strictly worming medication once a year. Them I went to just heartworm preventive medication (liquid) without the benefits of treating other types of worms. My dogs now have worms which I tried treating withing Dog Wormer3 with no luck. You would be wise to treat you dog once a year to stay safe. Good Luck
