Capstar Flea Treatment Tablets are used to kill fleas on dogs and cats, which begins working within 30 minutes. Capstar will kill more than 90% of adult fleas within 4 hours on dogs and 6 hours on cats, and pets may temporarily scratch as a result of the fleas dying. Capstar Flea Treatment Tablets are best used with Program Tablets (dogs/cats) or Program Liquid (cats only) to also prevent future flea infestations.

Really works
Our four cats were really struggling with fleas. We'd use drops on them every month, but it didn't totally stop the problem, just slowed it down a little. Within hours of giving the Capstar capsule, they had quit scratching (all but the one with flea allergy, thus skin rash which is healing now), and they no longer drop flea blood and debris on the bathroom counter or in the bathroom sink when they jump up for "drips"! We are extremely pleased!

Works Great
I have never had a flea product work this well on my dog. My poor dog has suffered from fleas for a while and we always used one of those oily flea preventatives that never seemed to work. With Capstar I just wrapped the pill up in a little piece of cheese, my dog ate it like it was nothing. Since then I haven't seen one flea on him. I also recommend using this with the Program pill. They work amazing together.

I ordered Frontline flea meds for my 65 kbs 10 month old puppy. It didn.t work after four days so I called and ordered Castar, 6 to a box, and have given him four tablets in six days and he still has fleas. Do you have a flea product taht works on a long haired Azzie shepard and wolf mix. My dog needs it and the house is becoming infested.

Capstar for Dogs
I would highly recommend it for dogs infested severly with fleas. We gave it to our two and with in 30 minutes we saw a huge difference. Our lucky wasn't winning any more and they were not stopping every few seconds to scratch.

Capstar is an oral medication used to kill fleas on dogs and cats. It works within 30 minutes but the effects last only 24 hours. Comfortis is a once a month oral flea medication.
Thank you for your question Molly. Capstar is safe for puppies and kittens four weeks and older, weighing two pounds or greater, as well as for pregnant or nursing dogs and cats. You can safely give a dose of Capstar as often as once per day.
The very first Capstar tablet I gave my peekapoo gave him terrible diarrhea the very next day. I haven't seen any more fleas on him, but I wanted to give him a follow up Capstar to be sure they're all gone. Any suggestions as to how I can combat the diarrhea? My only thought is maybe trying a half a pill given in some peanut butter to coat the pill for slower digestion?
Hi there, being your Furry Friend had a side effect you definitely always want to speak to your vet since he would know your Furry Friend the best prior to re-dosing them, even thou side effect may seem minor it important to get a medical opinion before using again. :)
