What is Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult Dog Dry Food?

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult Dog Food is a protein-rich, grain-free dog food for active or working dogs - or for any dog who prefers a meatier option. It comes in three varieties, chicken, salmon, and duck - and each are formulated with a higher concentration of these protein-packed meats that most dogs love. Blue Buffalo Wilderness is a convenient, nutritious alternative to raw diets, and provides a balanced diet to help your dog live a long, healthy life. Blue Buffalo's grain-free Wilderness foods may also be a good option for dogs who are sensitive to grains. What's even better is that the food includes LifeSource® Bits, exclusive to Blue Buffalo Foods, which provide your dog with a precise blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants chosen by holistic veterinarians and animal nutritionists.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:
  • Nutritious alternative to raw diets
  • Good for dogs with grain sensitivities
  • No grain, corn, or soy
  • No artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors
  • Real fruits and vegetables
  • Exclusive LifeSource® Bits help promote optimal health
  • Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are included for healthy skin and a shiny coat

How it Works:

In all three varieties of Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult Dry Dog Food, real meat provides protein along with essential amino acids your dog needs every day. Blueberries, cranberries, and carrots provide essential antioxidants. And whole vegetables, along with sweet potatoes and potatoes, give your dog necessary carbohydrates. Every bag of Blue Buffalo contains small morsels called LifeSource® Bits that benefit dogs by maintaining a healthy oxidative balance and a healthy immune system throughout a dog's stages of life. LifeSource® Bits are small kibbles that contain a precise blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants selected by holistic veterinarians and animal nutritionists. To ensure that dogs and cats get the full benefit of these vital nutrients, LifeSource® Bits are "cold-formed" to help preserve their potency. Blue Buffalo is the only pet food that uses this manufacturing breakthrough.

Cautions:

None.

How to Use
Directions:
  • Meal Frequency: Small Breed: 1 Meal Per Day. Medium/Large Breed: 2 Meals Per Day.
  • Use a standard 8 oz. measuring cup.
  • Always have clean, fresh water available for your pet(s).
  • Transitioning Your Dog to Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dog Food: Start by mixing 25% of Blue Buffalo Food with your dog's previous food. Gradually increase the proportion of Blue Buffalo over the next 14 days until you are giving 100% Blue Buffalo food.
Tip:

Digestive upset caused by a diet change can sometimes be prevented by mixing some non-fat plain yogurt in with your dog's food each day during the transition. The live cultures within the yogurt will help balance the flora within the digestive system and minimize flatulence or loose stools that are sometimes associated with a diet change.

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult Dog Dry Food is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality food

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has helped a lot We have two pembroke welsh corgis. They were both shedding nonstop. The male was developing bad dandruff, too. I called the breeder and they said when any of their dogs did that, they took them off of anything with corn in it. We started feeding Blue Wilderness. The dogs love it, they have stopped shedding all the time, their coats are glossy, and the dandruff has been eliminated. I think they have more energy (more than me, that's for sure).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great My dog was diagnosed with cancer this summer...the vet recommended a dog food that had life source and protein. My dog has been more energetic and seems to be doing amazing with this dog food. I would recommend this food for other dogs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rover loves this food I switched my dog Ronnie a black lab, from nutro max, she didn't digest it well. She has been on the Blue Wilderness Duck flavor and she looks forward to feeding times, she just loves it. Her coat is better than ever, stools are formed good, she has plenty of energy to play even after a 3 - 4 mile walk. I do not know if this food changes temperment but that has improved as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I adopted Molly, my little adult, 8 pound Cockapoo, from a rescue shelter. She had a VERY sensitive stomach. My Vet suggested I try the Blue along with the Blue can food. She did not eat well before I started feeding her the BB and was very underweight (6 pounds). She now eats 1/8 cup of BB dry and 1 tbsp of BB canned food twice a day. She LOVES the food and is waiting by her placemat for me to set her bowl down. It amazes me how fast that tiny mouth can chomp up the BB. She no longer is vomiting and her coat is soft and shiny. I am so happy with BB and thankful my Vet suggested it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from stinky gas Good quailty food. My puppy doesn't like the taste and smell of hers, but will eat the adult variety. This one gave my dogs some serious stinky gas

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Food Great food that my dog inhales like a vacuum cleaner. His coat is shiny and receives compliments about it all the time. The breeder and the vet both recommended Blue Buffalo, and we're very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this food is great for dogs! I'm writing this review because the last persons review was simply useless. because a dog does not like the taste of a product does not mean it deserves a 1 rating. i have 2 adult dogs on blue buffalo and they LOVE every bit of it and so do my cats. the food is great, keeps them healthy and everyone always compliments them on how great their coats look. when you feed your pets quality food it lengthens their life span and raises the quality of their life.

ok so 3 cups for my dog. now is that 3 cup for all day or 3 cups twice a day?

Asked by: doodler
Medium/Large breed dogs would be fed twice a day. You would use the feeding chart (link below) to determine how many cups your dog should get. http://www.1800petmeds.com/images/feeding-guidelines/63904-feeding-chart.jpg
